I Agree With Agreeable Gray
So we spent our first week as homeowners painting our entire main living space, which includes the entryway and main hallway, living room/dining room combo space, and the kitchen. It was a much bigger undertaking than we thought it would be; but I'm so glad we did it before moving in, I can't imagine trying to paint all of that area and have all of our stuff in there!
Remember when we were trying to decide on what color to use in my last blog post? We went with Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray and it turned out to be the perfect "greige" that I was looking for. The space really looks so much more bright and clean than it did before, when it was (what I refer to as) "rental cream".
Remember, this was the before:
And here is what it looks like now:
Much better, right?!?
So after finishing the entryway, I decided that I really need to paint the back of the front door...the fact that it is still cream, paired with the bright white trim, is bothering me a lot more than I'd anticipated and I feel like it just looks dirty compared to the rest of the space....Ideas? I'm debating on colors and thinking about going with a slightly darker gray, from the same color palate as the wall, to give some contrast but am worried that it may turn out too dark or in gray overload. I've also thought about painting it a fun color to brighten up the space a little, everyone knows that I'm more than a little obsessed with turquoise, so that's an option as well.
Have any of you ever painted the back of your front door? What color did you go with? I'd love to see pictures and hear your color choices and ideas; this is a group effort! Post them here, or tag me on Instagram or Twitter and use #AlchemyHome to share your front door ideas!
